The European Defence Action Plan, unveiled on 30 November 2016, is the Commission's contribution to a stronger European defence through ensuring that the European industrial base is able to meet future security needs in priority areas. This will translate into many opportunities at the regional level regarding defence technologies, skills and jobs.
In cooperation with ERRIN (European Regions Research and Innovation Network) and EURADA (European Association of Development Agencies), the Commission will hold a half-day introductory workshop in Brussels on 9 March.
This event will inform regional organisations and clusters about the EDAP’s exciting new prospects, which include development of a European defence research programme, stronger use of the European Structural and Investment Funds for defence and dual-use innovation, and support to defence skills.
The workshop will be held at the European Commission premises in Brussels (room 05/428 Avenue d'Auderghem 19, 1040 Brussels). It is open to all regions, but was of particular interest to those with defence industries.
